From July 1, the Kalamunda Zig Zag Scenic Drive will reopen to cars during the day for a 12-month trial.
Why was it closed?
The popular road was closed more than a year ago due to hoons and anti-social behaviour.
How the trial will work?
Vehicles will be allowed access from 11am – 8:30pm daily, sharing the path with pedestrians and cyclists.
It will also operate as a one-way shared path drive (from the top to the bottom), with stopping only permitted in designated areas.
The City of Kalamunda will monitor vehicle activity and user behaviour across the trial period and will report back with the goal to find a long-term solution for the popular Zig Zag Scenic Drive.
