Perth’s iconic London Court is on the market.
A for sale sign has gone up on a significant part of Perth’s history. London Court built in 1937 is on the market and while numerous retail venues have closed and traffic has dropped in the laneway that won’t stop this iconic location from fetching a price tag said to be in the tens of millions.
In a report earlier today on Perth Now the sale of London Court was discussed on The West Live.
What will happen to London Court once sold?
Well, that is the multi-million dollar question.
Buyers won’t be restricted in their own vision for the laneway with prospective buyers able to take advantage of residential zoning to return the arcade’s 24 offices back into apartments if desired.
Further inspiration from new owners could also be taken from similar laneways, most notably in Brisbane with Bakery Lane.
Bakery Lane precinct in Brisbane has been transformed into a bustling hub filled with galleries, studios and wine bars.
