New year, new owners for Hillarys landmark The Breakwater.

Update: The Breakwater new menus and prices revealed

Hillarys oceanside landmark The Breakwater has undergone a change in management, and with it comes a new approach to providing Perth’s Northern suburbs with a quality dining and drinking experience – without the obscene price tag that was associated with The Breakwater.

The multi award-winning venue located at Hillary’s Boat Harbour was recently purchased by Capitol Corp. The Perth-based hospitality group already owns and operates several of Perth’s premier live music venues, bars and nightclubs, including Amplifier Capitol, Metropolis Fremantle and The Edison.

The acquisition of The Breakwater couldn’t have come at a better time for the new owners as Perth reaches peak summer and with Perth punters wanting to soak up as much sun and good vibes as possible.

For The Breakwater it is seen as a much-needed sea change for the venue dubbed “The Break-wallet” by locals and for good reason.

With many pricey food and drink offerings – with mains historically ranging from $35 to $49 and don’t get us started on the cost of a pint!

Capitol Corp Chairman David Heaton insists this pricing will be a thing of the past under the new ownership.

Heaton says, “It’s fair to say that the venue has been running as an event and special occasions spot and we would like to change this perception. Over summer we will be implementing changes that will bring the venue back into line with local expectations.”

The new and improved Breakwater, under Heaton’s guidance, will see a revision of all bar and menu pricing, with exciting new offerings to be announced.
