Optus Stadium : Perth Stadium Secures Naming Rights – reports
The new Perth Stadium will be known as “Optus Stadium” or “Optus Perth Stadium” – after the McGowan government agreed to a multi-million dollar, multi-year deal with Singapore telco giant SingTel.
The official Optus Stadium announcement is set to take place soon.
Ten News Perth Journalist Rebecca Munro first reported that Optus was the likely brand to be associated with the stadium from 2018. Today, So Perth understands the deal has been done.

So Perth also understands Commonwealth Bank owned Bankwest were in a bidding war against SingTel for the rights to Perth Stadium, with Optus prevailing.
As a local brand, Perth based Bankwest executives were likely keen to secure the rights to Perth stadium.
It appears the Singaporean Telecommunications Limited offer was too good for the government to turn down.
The Perth Stadium building team had also installed a telecommunications system with the help of Optus and other telco tech providers in recent months. All key to ensuring reliable mobile phone and WiFi coverage for patrons.
Ten News Perth reported the deal to name Perth Stadium ‘Optus Stadium’ is worth $4 million a year over four years, however the bidding war with Bankwest may have increased that price significantly.
7 News Perth also reported on the Bankwest, Optus name war in recent weeks.
Interestingly, the AFL has a massive deal with Telstra for mobile streaming of games and naming rights – worth a reported $300 million.
