WA Health Minister Roger Cook provides a Perth coronavirus update.

WA continues to flatten the curve as the latest Perth coronavirus update sees only 1 confirmed case of COVID-19 overnight – taking the states total to 551.

In the last 24 hours, 649 individuals were tested for COVID-19 with one confirmed case reported – a 13-year-old female who was linked to overseas travel

Of the remaining active cases in WA a further 5 recoveries overnight have been recored taking the stats active cases to 43, of which only 26 are localised cases when excluding interstate and cruise ship cases.

Regional Western Australia only now has 3 active cases, all from the Goldfields. We have 14 people currently in Perth hospitals and 4 of those are in ICU.

To date 35,980 people have tested negative.

New overseas arrivals

This morning, a flight from Johannesburg has touched down in Perth, carrying 256 Australian citizens or permanent residents, including 86 from WA.

Passengers are currently undergoing health checks at the airport and are being transported to Rottnest and Pan Pacific for their 14-day quarantine

Mr Cook wanted to ensure the public that no passengers will be permitted to return home or take an onward journey without police exemption.

#BREAKING: A 19-year-old woman from Perth has tested positive to COVID-19. Her case is related to overseas travel and takes WA's total to 551.It comes as 256 Australians arrived in Perth on a flight from South Africa this morning.The 256 Australian citizens and permanent residents, including 86 from WA, who flew into the State this morning received health checks at the airport and will be sent to Rottnest Island for two weeks of mandatory COVID-19 quarantine.#LIVE: WA Health Minister Roger Cook with a coronavirus update.LATEST | https://ab.co/2SxYA23
