One of the best ways to make the most of your summer nights is to be under the stars.

Summer is officially here and with it comes an abundance of outdoor cinemas to fill your nights with. One of the best ways to make the most of your summer nights is surely at an outdoor cinema, under the stars, with great food and great drinks. 

Rooftop Movies in Northbridge has been a Perth summer favourite for years since it started back in 2012 and they never fail to bring us one of the best experiences in outdoor cinema.

There’s so much good stuff going on up there that we’ve decided to come up with the best five things you can’t find anywhere else: 

1. CHEESY, DECADENT NEW YORK STYLE PIZZAS FROM ONE OF PERTH’S BEST PIZZA SPOTS 

If you haven’t heard of Mack Daddy’s New York Slice, then you need to get out of that rock you’ve been living under and get up to that rooftop.

Mack Daddy’s is Perth’s famous New York style pizza restaurant and now they have partnered with Rooftop Movies, so you can’t find that deliciousness in any other cinema in Perth (and trust us, movies and views aside, it’s worth it just for the pizza). 

2. ONE OF THE BEST CITY VIEWS YOU CAN FIND 

It’s no secret that one of the best city views you can get is from Rooftop Movies – they are nestled right above the hustle and bustle of Northbridge and right in the middle of it all, where you are surrounded by panoramic views of the city. 

3. ONE OF THE LARGEST DISCO BALLS IN THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE 

‘How impressive can a disco ball be?’ – that’s what we asked ourselves when we first heard about it. Well, turns out, pretty damn impressive. This thing is huge and weight over 200kgs! It’s definitely a sight to behold when you go up there. 

4. AN EXCLUSIVE FLAVOUR OF CHICHO GELATO CHOC TOP 

Choc tops are such a classic Australian cinema snack, and Rooftop Movies have taken it to the next level (pun intended!) with their flavour collaboration with another Perth favourite, Chicho Gelato. The Hokey-Pokey is a vanilla and honeycomb flavoured dream, you will definitely be coming back for more. 

5. A LINE-UP OF CULT AND CLASSIC FILMS FOR THE MOVIE BUFFS OUT THERE 

Now, this is probably what we are most excited about – Rooftop Movies has introduced Buff Club, a selection of films to please the movie buffs of Perth.

There are Buff Club screenings in each of their four programs and they include some of the best cult and classic titles like Donnie Darko, Fast Times at Ridgemont High and It’s a Wonderful Life for the jolly buffs out there. There are heaps of other ones showing so check out their website for all of them.
