WATERLICHT – Witness the universal power and poetry of water.
The Esplanade in Fremantle will play host to an Australian premiere, Studio Roosegaarde will present a large-scale light installation illustrating the universal power and poetry of water – WATERLICHT.Â
This will mark the first time WATERLICHT has come south of the equator and will be a headline act for Fremantle Biennale running in November.
About WATERLICHT
Experience a larger-than-life; cascading waves of blue light soaring into the middle of Fremantle’s Esplanade Park – simulating a virtual flood and calling attention to rising water levels along Fremantle’s shoreline.
The work will also embrace the unique physical features of the site while acknowledging its past.
Watch: WATERLICHT by Daan Roosegaarde
It is hoped that the inspiring light installation will serve as a stirring call-to-action for a city-wide conversation around clean water initiatives and climate change.
