State Makers 2022 edition begins its eleven-day celebration this June
The annual State Makers festival is on its way back for 2022, bringing the best and brightest Western Australian creators to Perth’s iconic State Buildings in an eleven-day celebration of food, wine, and the arts.
It’s seen success on the food and arts scene in previous years, and this year festival-goers will be introduced to some exciting newcomers and icons from June 16th – 26th.
This year’s highlights
David Thompson in the House
For the first time in three years, State Makers will welcome home Thai food legend David Thompson to Long Chim’s Bangkok basement abode. For two nights only, he’ll be delivering an epic shared Thai feast featuring a mix of spicy classics and never before seen dishes.
Culinary Royalty – POST x Rockpool
In an evening celebrating two of WA’s culinary kings, State Buildings Executive Chef Kim Brennan and Rockpool Bar and Grill Perth Head Chef Brendan Owens will be putting on dinner in style. Guests will enjoy canapés followed by a bountiful four-course menu paired alongside a collection of wines curated by award-winning Director of Wine, Emma Farrelly.
Dynamic Duo – Petition x Lady Lola
In another powerhouse match, Lady Lola Owner and Executive Chef Michelle Forbes, and Petition Head Chef Jane Collins will be putting on four mouthwatering courses featuring forward-thinking and thoughtful flavours. The dinner will also be paired with wines by Lady Lola Owner and Sommelier, Marinela and Emma Farrelly.
Reunited – The Bar Legends of Long Chim
A one-night-only special, original bar chief James Connolly, local bar hero Dean Buchanan and globe-trotting bar boss Eoin Kenny will showcase three signature creations at Long Chim. Expect expertly-crafted liquid creations like the famous Bangkok Painkiller, Temple of Dawn, and delightful Lychee.
Three Hats of Wildflower – Gerrard, Sartori and D’Adamo
Enjoy a six-course menu journey with WA’s Western Australia’s most celebrated chefs from Wildflower; Jed Gerrard, Matthew Sartori, and Michael D’Adamo. The food will showcase a taste of Wildflower’s culinary past, present, and future.
