Set up for spectacular viewing of the Australia Day Skyworks in Perth

Perth is lighting up on the 26th of January for a dazzling display of Skyworks in the annual Australia Day show.

If you want to avoid the packed crowds of the foreshore but still want to have the best seats in the house, check out some of these epic spots including bars and restaurants that will have you catching the fireworks from every angle.

The Raft

The Australia Day Skyworks are pretty spectacular from anywhere, but we reckon The Raft has some of the best seats in the house.

‘Ooo’ and ‘Ahh’ at the array of dazzling fireworks on Perth’s luxurious floating oasis, with 360-degree views of the Swan River, ice-cold drinks flowing and a DJ spinning tunes all afternoon.

Tickets are going for $60 and include a Colonial Brewing Co drink on arrival and a return ferry ticket.

Lake Monger

Avoid the hustle and bustle of the hundreds packing onto the foreshore and head to Lake Monger instead where the views are just as good.

It’s not too far out of the city, but it’s a unique spot to take in the breathtaking experience. For the absolute best viewing head to the hill on Gregory St looking across the lake of the city skyline, or try the park area on the north end of the lake near Lake Monger Primary School.

Kings Park

Where better to take in the sky of lights than from one of the most beautiful viewing spots in Perth.

The lush lawns of Kings Park make for prime seating on the night as you overlook the twinkling city skyline. Grab a picnic and a bottle of sparkling to settle in for the evening, or turn up the fancy meter and head to Fraser’s for a cocktail party.

The restaurant will be serving up delicious canapes, beverage packages, five mouthwatering food stations and DJ entertainment for the evening- there’s even a kids corner with face painting to keep the little ones entertained.

The drinks will be flowing with a Pavlova Cocktail and Swan Draught giving a nod to good old Australia. They open at 11:30am, so make a day of it and get the crew along then hang around for the fireworks at 8pm.

Matilda Bay

Located on the edge of the sparkling Matilda Bay in Crawley, it’s easy to be whisked away in the beauty of food, wine and sprawling views here.
