What To Expect

Spend the day wandering through the show, sampling delicious bites and sips from hundreds of stalls. Chat with winemakers and distillers and hear their stories and experiences first-hand. Watch as some of Australia’s favourite chefs entertain you with demonstrations of their recipes. However, Australia’s celebrity chefs aren’t the only chefs you’ll come across this weekend, the lineup also includes a selection of local Perth talent which we love to see. You can find these guys at the Kleenheat Kitchen.

If watching food demonstrations isn’t your thing, then step into one of the pop-up restaurants for a relaxed meal, or get hands-on with an array of masterclasses from wine and cheese pairing to whisky tasting. There’s no doubt this is a foodie’s heaven, here are a few events from the show over the weekend we think you’ll want to make sure you catch.

Witness your favourite chefs live on stage at The Kitchen by Harris Scarfe. Here, you’ll be able to watch in awe as chefs such as Miguel Maestre, Kirsten Tibballs, Brendan Pang, Justine Schofield, and Nagi Maehashi whip up delectable creations before your eyes. Think caramel banana tart with Kirsten Tibballs, a trip around the world with Miguel Maestre, and crispy crayfish noodles with Brendan Pang. Don’t get too fixated on these drool-worthy creations, while it’s no doubt a fabulous sight for the eyes, you’ll want to be sure to listen in as the chefs pass along their own cooking tips, tricks, and secrets. Of course, there’ll also be a huge selection of Harris Scarfe homewares in action that will no doubt inspire you to treat yourself and your kitchen to an upgrade.

Cheese Corner

Yes, cheese lover, you read that right, GF&WS will have its very own dedicated Cheese Corner. Take a stroll down this section and allow your senses to be overtaken by the sights, smells, and tastes of oozy camembert, crumbly goat’s cheese, creamy brie, and more. In the Cheese Corner specifically, you’ll find Ashgrove Cheese, Noshing, Brownes Dairy, Coal River Farm, and Moondarra Cheese. Throughout the rest of the show, you will also find Smelly Cheese Co. and Le Gruyère AOP.

Be introduced to a world of flavoursome, meat alternative dishes, as GF&WS welcomes the V2food Plant Based Cooking Stage for the first time. Take a seat and be inspired as chefs create meals using V2food products while sharing tips on how you can easily incorporate these alternative options into your everyday cooking without missing out on any flavours. We think this stage is a must-visit for cooking inspiration you didn’t know you needed. Admire as Brendan Pang creates chicken-style chow mein, beef-style dumplings, katsu plant-based curry, and on Saturday only, watch Miguel Maestre whip up some crispy plant-based schnitzel tacos.

Wine Selectors Wine & Food Tasting Rooms

Wine Selectors will be hosting an opportunity for small groups of up to 14 wine lovers to take part in an interactive, guided tasting with an expert from the team. With four different tasting room experiences on offer, you can choose from the Cuisine Discovery Tasting Room, Varietal Tasting Room, The Cellar Tasting Room, and the On-trend Tasting Room.
