As the weather begins to heat up, so do the event offerings and weekend shenanigans around Perth as we all venture into the outdoors.

Oktoberfest in the Gardens | 8 October

You don’t need to be in Germany to celebrate Oktoberfest (although we wouldn’t mind it), because Australia’s largest touring event will be hitting up Langley Park for yet another year of beer, music and good times.

Featuring two massive big top beer halls, authentic German food stalls, roving performers, sideshow alley, a silent disco, a dodgeball arena, and an eclectic mix of entertainment and competitions across multiple stages.

Fremantle Design Week | 14-21 October

Creators are opening their doors for the inaugural Fremantle Design Week.

The walkable event will feature an engaging program of design-inspired events, conversations, and open studios that are set to inspire, entertain and challenge audiences.

Monash University’s XYX Lab will present its award-winning HyperSext City exhibition, which examines how gender impacts our experience of space, and the event hub in the PS Art Space will house the likes of tattoo artists, architects, industry leaders, fashion designers, and urban planners.

Cookie Dough QTea with Anna Polyviou | 22 October

The most colourful, quirky and high-energy high tea is coming to Perth this October.

Creative pâtissier Anna Polyviou will be putting on a visual feast for all the senses with a reimagined QTea tickled in pink and dipped in rockstar flair. The Wonka-inspired collection of food will sit at $99 per person and feature both sweet and savoury with the moreish ‘Cookie Dough’ front and centre and unconventional dishes including a caramel slice that has been reinvented with peanut fudge cookies and salted caramel popcorn.

Be sure to wear your loosest pants for this one, this is over-indulgence at its finest.

North West Oktoberfest | 8 & 15 October

Donned in their dirndls and lederhosens, punters will gather in the Pilbara at either of the two epic locations on Saturday 8 October at Cattrall Park in Karratha and Saturday 15 October at Civic Gardens in Port Hedland.

Here you’ll find live entertainment, cold beers, a silent disco, hot food stalls, thrilling rides, games, and competitions allamong the backdrop of WA’s stunning landscape.

Rooftop Roller Club | 12-31 October

Rolling around on skates just got a whole lot cooler.

The Rooftop Movies is transforming their sky-high location into a retro-style Rooftop Roller Club sporting endless disco balls, a spacious rink for you to skate around, and plenty of entertainment nightly from live music to circus acts and karaoke.

Never Say Neverland | 22 October

The little ones will love this.

The Never Say Neverland Kids Music Festival is heading to Perth for the first time, set to be the first of its kind in a day of pure family fun.

They’ll get to meet characters like Bluey and Bingo or the loveable PAW Patrol, and get amongst activities like inflatable obstacle courses, mermaid/fairy meet and greet, silent discos, petting zoos, and Motorcross riders performing their tricks and flips in an action-packed show.

The festival aims to bring magic and joy to the Perth community and proudly supports Perth
Children Hospital Foundation, Happiness Co Foundation and Moondreamz Inc.

Suburban Vibes In Subiaco | 7-16 October

With a mix of both free and ticketed shows, Suburban Vibes in Subiaco is the perfect place to immerse yourself in music and stories from local WA artists.

This year’s program will feature the hottest homegrown talent (Jordy Maxwell, Adrian Dzuke, Sash Seaborne) playing in gardens, laneways, bars, and breweries over all 10 days.

Beau With The Fab: Halloween Edition | 9 October

It’s the spookiest drag brunch of the year.

The hottest Queens in Perth; Cougar Morrison, Fay Rocious and Donna Kebab are ready to give you a show you won’t forget, complete with free-flowing alcohol and a three course share menu at The Elford from 11am.

Seaside sommelier Sofia Giros is back from the homeland and ready to take you on a liquid-fuelled whirlwind around Spain, featuring some of the region’s most iconic producers and some lesser-known gems.

Silk Road Dinner Series: Japan | 25 October

Sweetwater Rooftop Bar is serving up all things Japan this October for one night only.

Dive into the delicate, balanced goodness of the finest cuisine as they explore the legendary Silk Road and flavours from each destination. The feasts will all be share-style, and for $75pp will include a banquet for the table and drink on arrival.

Planet Comedy | 28 October

One small step for man, one giant leap for Perth’s comedy experience.

Planet Royale is hosting a tummy-grabbing evening headlined by Rove McManus alongside Dave Callan (triple j) and some of Perth’s favourite comedians on Friday 28 October. Featuring Daniel Delby (Best Weekly Comedy Fringe World winner, Sunday Singles co-host, and half of the Hard Yarns podcast), Simone Springer (ABC morning radio host, Sunday Singles co-host and part of the award-winning comedy group the Motherhood), and Grant Mushet (Scottish comedian, and winner of Best Weekly Comedy at Fringe World).
