Perth Global Warming Catastrophe – Beach and Riverside Suburbs Gone
Perth’s riverside and coastal suburbs will be underwater if global warming cannot be stopped, mapping from a US group claims to show.
Areas like Fremantle, Rockingham and Mandurah on the coast will be completely consumed by the Ocean; while suburbs right up the Swan river to the Avon valley will be completely flooded, under a model of a 4C temperature rise by 2100.
The mapping is based on work from scientist published in US literature and was posted online by advocacy group Climate Central.
Suburbs like South Perth, Como, Applecross, Burswood, Ascot, Bassendean and into the Swan Valley region will be underwater.
Beachside suburbs all the way down the coast will be swamped by the Indian Ocean.
