Perth Ocean Pool : Cottesloe Beach To Get Ocean Pool
Plans are underway for a possible Perth Ocean Pool at Cottesloe beach.
The Town of Cottesloe is looking into the development of an Ocean Pool by the on the south side of Cottesloe groyne. The town is developing a feasibility study into the idea.
Consultants with the Cottesloe local government have recommended a study be approved, with a vote by councillors set to take place in the next few days.
The proposed Perth Ocean pool at Cott could include eight-lanes, recreation area and a smaller children’s pool, surrounded by seating, pergolas and a kiosk.
Saleeba Adams Architects are behind the push for the ocean pool. Their vision is for an “iconic” attraction for Perth, rivalling Icebergs pool at Bondi Beach in New South Wales.
The development follows a period of consultation with the local community, with 1249 submissions received. Almost all were in favour of the proposed new Perth Ocean pool.
A previous proposal had also been called for, with a 50 meter pool on the other side of the Cottesloe groin to compliment the beach.
