Fremantle Dockers travel to Aurora Stadium on Sunday to take on Hawthorn at 3.20pm.

Dockers will be aiming for their 13th win of the season against last year’s premiers but I don’t think Hawthorn will go down quietly. Actually, I don’t think they will go down at all! Aurora Stadium is a fortress for the Hawks who have not lost at the venue since early 2012.

Hawthorn have only lost 4 games this season and they are looking in much better form than Fremantle have been lately. Fremantle have had supporters worried for about a month now with their lack of forward line performance, resulting in some near losses.

Fremantle have been struggling with converting their play to goals and making an impact on the scoreboard. They have been starting flat and have had to give everything they can in the final quarter to secure a win.

Hawthorn are going to have the home ground advantage and I have a feeling they may over run the Dockers on this occasion.

It’s going to be purely a matter of who uses their opportunities better. Hawks gun Cyril Rioli will be one to watch for this exact reason, after kicking 5 goals from just 10 disposals in last weekend’s game against the Pies.

Fremantle’s skipper Matt Pavlich will be expected to step up again this weekend after finally kicking a couple of goals last week. I’m still waiting for Hayden Ballantyne to get back into goal kicking form, he is a crucial part of the forward line and the sooner he starts converting his efforts to goals the better! (And the less stressful these games will be to watch!)

Hopefully Dockers can surprise me and get their act together inside 50 and cause an upset at Aurora. I would love that! Maybe hit outs from ‘the hit out king’ Aaron Sandilands to the powerful Fremantle midfield could be enough to get Dockers over the line? As much as I would love to tip WA teams to win every week, unfortunately I think Hawks will take this one out in a very close game.
