Happy Boxing Day to all of our cricket fans! Hopefully you are recovered enough from Christmas day to enjoy watching the Perth Scorchers take on Brisbane Heat at #TheFurnace this afternoon.

I will be doing a live blog of the match and updating you with all the action taking place around the ground. The temperature in Perth is currently 33 degrees, there is a fair breeze making it’s way around the ground, and the sun definitely still has a bite to it.

Scorchers have unfortunately lost the coin toss and will bowl first. Play starts at 4.10pm.

4:10pm – Opening the batting from Brisbane Heat are James Peirson and Lendl Simmons. Opening the bowling for Perth Scorchers is Jason Behrendorff.

4:11pm – OUT!! Well that didn’t take long! Danger man Lendl Simmons is caught behind the wicket for one run. Chris Lynn is next to bat for Brisbane Heat. Great start for the Scorchers!

4:15pm – Joel Paris is bowling well for the Scorchers, Brisbane are 1/5.

4:17pm – Scorchers are showing some very tight fielding, not letting anything past.

4:19pm – Two overs down, Brisbane are 1/10.

4:20pm – Captain Chris Lynn gets the first boundary for Brisbane Heat with a four.

4:21pm – SIX! Lynn smacks a massive boundary. Heat are 1/20.

4:22pm – Another good over from Behrendorff, Joel Paris is back in to bowl.

4:28pm – OUT!! Peirson is caught for 10 by Scorchers captain Michael Klinger. Heat are 2/33.

4:35pm – Another SIX from Chris Lynn- what a swing! Heat are 2/47.

4:38pm – Crowd favourite Brad Hogg is in to bowl for the Scorchers.

4:43pm – Chris Lynn hits ANOTHER six off a ball from Andrew Tye. Heat are 2/58.

4:50pm – On to our 10th over at #TheFurnace, Brisbane Heat are 2/64. Thoroughly enjoying the presence of Freddie Flintoff as always!

4:51pm – OUT!! Peter Forrest goes for 6 after a catch from Perth’s Ashton Agar. Heat are 3/64.

4:54pm – Brad Hogg is back in to bowl for the Scorchers. Chris Lynn is on 43 from 32 deliveries.

4:56pm – CATCH!! Perth get another! Nathan Reardon is caught by Behrendorff off a ball from Brad Hogg. Heat are 4/67 and look to be in a bit of trouble.

4:58pm – 12 overs done after a nice one from Hogg. Perth welcome Behrendorff back in to bowl.

5:01pm – Chris Lynn hits another four and makes it to 50 off 37 balls.

5:02pm – Seven overs to go, Heat are 4/77. David Willey steps up to bowl.

5:08pm – SIX!! Chris Lynn smacks another boundary, but dropped in the crowd!

5:10pm – OUT! Andrew Tye catches the ball of Jason Floros, Heat are 5/88 and Chris Lynn is 59 from 43 deliveries.

5:13pm – Hoggy is back in to bowl for Perth, Ben cutting is 2 from 6 deliveries and Chris Lynn is  61 from 45 deliveries with 16 overs gone. Heat are 5/92.

5:18pm – 17 overs down and Brisbane Heat are 5/96. Cutting is still on 4 off 10 deliveries as Andrew Tye steps in to bowl.

5:21pm – Excellent bowling from Perth Scorchers this afternoon, Heat are now 5/100.

5:24pm – DROPPED! Behrendorff drops a sitter and pushes it for 4 for Ben Cutting.

5:25pm – WICKET!! Andrew Tye gets the wicket of Ben Cutting, dismissed for 8 from 13 deliveries. Heat are 6/107 and Lynn is still in and on 69 from 52 deliveries. Josh Lalor steps in to bat.

5:29pm – One over to go, Brisbane Heat are 6/111. Tye is in to bowl the final over. Scorchers bowling and fielding has been excellent.

5:32pm – CAUGHT off the last bowl! Lalor is caught by Paris off the final ball of the innings. Heat finish on 7/117. Chris Lynn finished up on 75 not out off 58 deliveries.

5:47pm – Michael Klinger and Marcus Harris are starting for Perth and Lalor is bowling first for Heat. Brisbane are going to need to get wickets fast to try and win this game!

5:51pm – FOUR!! First boundary for Perth with a four going to Harris. Scorchers are 0/7.

5:55pm – Lalor is back in to bowl for Heat and Scorchers are 0/12.

5:58pm – A big four runs for Klinger with a great shot, he is now 9 off 9 deliveries.

6:00pm – Harris gets a lucky SIX after it was almost caught right on the boundary! And hits another straight after! Harris is on fire!!

6:02pm – A nice 17 runs off the over! Harris is 25 from 14 deliveries. Scorchers are 0/35 and need 83 runs off 96 balls to win

6:07pm – Harris with two boundaries in a row! He is on 36 from 20 deliveries. Scorchers are 0/48.

6:09pm – OUT! Marcus Harris caught by Chris Lynn and leaves the pitch on 36 from 22 balls. Ashton Agar takes to the ground and Andrew Fekete is back in the bowling seat. Scorchers are 1/48.

6:13pm – Scorchers need 70 runs off 82 balls to win.

6:14pm – FOUR!! Agar hits his first boundary for four and is 5 off 5 deliveries. Scorchers are 1/54.

6:19pm – 8 overs done, Perth are 1/63 and only need 55 runs off 72 balls to win. Go Scorchers! Klinger is 20 from 21 deliveries.

6:21pm – Agar with another four!! He is on 12 from 9 deliveries. Scorchers need 46 runs off 66 balls to win. They are looking the goods today thats’ for sure!

6:25pm – Klinger and Agar are making the most of their time out there with some great running. Scorchers are 1/77 and need 41 from 60 balls to win after the 10th over.

6:29pm – The crowd is getting excited! There has been a very successful Mexican wave flowing around #TheFurnace for about 5 minutes now… And still going!

6:32pm – 12 overs down, Scorchers are 1/89 and need 29 runs from 48 balls. Agar is on 20 from 19 deliveries and Klinger is 35 off 32 deliveries after another boundary!

6:37pm – It should be an easy win for the Scorchers, only needing 20 runs off 41 balls after the 13th over. Great running from Agar and Klinger. Scorchers are 1/110 after a FOUR and a SIX from Klinger, two boundaries in a row to get him his 50 runs.

6:41pm – Scorchers are about to wrap it up, needing just 5 runs from 34 balls in the 15th over.

6:45pm – SCORCHERS WIN!!! A great result for Perth finishing on 1/118 and beating Brisbane Heat by 9 wickets. Captain Michael Klinger finished on 53 not out smacking 4 FOURS and 1 SIX and Ashton Agar finished on 24 not out with 3 FOURS. Well done and congratulations to the Perth Scorchers!!
