As World Cup Fever sweeps across Perth, the State Government has just announced that tickets for the Matildas’ AFC Asian Cup qualifiers in Perth will go on sale today at 4:00 pm.

Led by their inspirational captain and local hero, Sam Kerr, the Matildas will be taking the field at HBF Park later this year. These matches, forming round 2 of the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024 Asian Cup Qualifiers, promise to deliver an electrifying display of skill, talent, and determination.

Premier Roger Cook commented, “The festival of football in Perth will continue after the FIFA Women’s World Cup, when the eyes of the world will once again be on Western Australia as our national team, the Matildas, fight for their chance to represent Australia at the Paris Olympics 2024.”

What matches will be played?

The Matildas will face some tough opponents in a round-robin style tournament during the qualifiers. The teams competing include Chinese Taipei, the Philippines, and IR Iran.

The six matches that will be played over three double-header events at HBF Park are:

  • Thursday 26 October: Chinese Taipei vs Philippines and Australia vs IR Iran
  • Sunday 29 October: Philippines vs Australia and IR Iran vs Chinese Taipei
  • Wednesday 1 November: Philippines vs IR Iran and Australia vs Chinese Taipei

“We’re confident these high-profile sporting matches will drive thousands of out-of-state visitors to WA and showcase our beautiful State to a global audience, while also cementing our reputation as one of the sporting capitals of the Southern Hemisphere,” said Tourism Minister Rita Saffioti.

How to get tickets

To catch all the action, you can purchase three-day passes from 4:00 pm today, while single match tickets will be available for purchase from 8:00 am on Thursday, July 20th.

In addition to these AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers, Western Australia will host five matches of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
