Enjoy the coastal vibes and tasty eats at the best cafes in Scarborough
Perth’s thriving, chilled-out beach ‘burb is overflowing with cute little cafe stops for your morning joe and breakfast feast.
Scarborough serves up some of the best beach-side experiences in Perth, and not to mention some of the best vibes. You’ll hit relax mode as soon as you step foot here and feel the sea breeze.
Pass the morning with insanely good beans roasted to perfection, fresh flavourful foods, friendly faces behind every counter and glistening ocean views.
The best cafes in Scarborough coming right up, in no particular order.
Sitting pretty in suburban Scarbs, Lady Latte is serving up some of the best piping hot coffee in town (and probably Perth).
You’ll be welcomed with a smile and funky decor as you saunter in after a morning dip and get your hands on some of their drool-worthy gourmet jaffles. We’re talking crispy bacon with scrambled eggs, chorizo, mac n cheese, pork meatballs- you name it, they’ve probably got it.
Fitting right into the chill coastal vibes, Drift Kitchen is one of our fave Scarborough hangout joints.
The food is fresh, the Leftfield coffee is soul-warming and the friendly atmosphere will make you want to stay awhile. If you haven’t tried Skol, the Scandi-style bar next door, then make sure you pop over sometime in the afternoon, or try Drift’s lunch menu collab with them.
Kinky Swell is a hidden gem on Brighton Road. Unassuming on the outside, once you step in and see the insane brunches popping out the kitchen you’ll have no choice but to take a seat.
Get your hands on lamb rosti, buttermilk pancakes with salted caramel and mascarpone, french toast, bacon and egg rolls and more. The coffee is also a custom blend with Crema Coffee Co, and totally de-lic-ious.
I’m pretty sure Toastface Grillah needs no introduction.
Grillin’ up some of the best toasties in Perth, their Scarborough location inside Indian Ocean Hotel is no exception. They’ve got pretty much every filling you can dream up, from the humble ham and cheese to pulled pork shoulder. Top it off with some of their specialty coffee and you’ve got yourself the perfect post-dip feed.
Livid Skate Cafe
Triple threat Livid Skate Cafe serves as a cafe/skate shop/gallery for locals and beachgoers alike and is totally Scarbs.
Watch out for their hole-in-the-wall style window down the laneway where you can get amazing coffee and amazing service from the chilled-out staff at all times- if you like Chai, I can confirm they do a damn good one. Once watered and fed, take a wander through their gallery of rad and unique artwork.
For my vegan and gluten-free friends, say hello to Grind Zero.
Specialising in options for any dietary requirements, you’ll find it hard to believe this insanely delicious stuff is even modified. They’re also dedicated to the environment and keep everything zero-waste and eco-friendly, and we can 100% get on board with that.
General Public Food Co
You may have tried the famous General Public Food Co pizzas for dinner, but have you tasted their equally good breakfast and lunch menu?
They’ve got house-made sourdough toast with fresh toppings, sourdough pockets filled with bacon, egg, ham or mushrooms and cinny scrolls. Swap that dinner trip for a morning trip next time and try their killer all-day menu.
Knead Bread & Coffee
As the name suggests, Knead Bread & Coffee knows their bread and coffee.
This family-run bakery fits right into the community of Scarborough, and their hearty sourdough loaves need to go home with you ASAP. They’ve got a steady flow of loyal followers and a huge selection of pastry delights and superb coffee.
Doric St Cafe & Kitchen
A place to relax, Doric St Cafe & Kitchen is ready to serve you up an impressive breakfast that will kickstart your day.
The super cute, chic interior welcomes you with warm smiles and the smell of good coffee, and the menu will continue to please with chorizo eggs, eggs benny, nasi goreng and in-house baked cakes or slices.
Another awesome Scarborough local serving up healthy eats for those of all dietary needs, Monty’s Cafe is guaranteed to always be fresh and delicious.
Enjoy Vego french toast, potato rosti breakfast stack, Thai chilli scramble and a vegan brekkie bowl beach-side with a fresh smoothie alongside.
We’re finishing off this list with a bangin’ pizza joint, because who doesn’t love pizza?
But Pizzaca Caffe is much more than just delish pizza- they also do breakfast, brunch, pasta and cakes. Pretty much, your one-stop shop for any craving. This joint is always buzzing, and considering it’s some of the best pizza in town and BYO dine-in, it’s pretty clear why.
