Add these North Perth cafes to your brunch checklist.
If you’re into food hunting in Perth, you’re sure to have visited the famous Angove Street hub in North Perth bursting with delicious eats and exceptional coffee.
Its cafe scene is vibrant and trendy, drawing the attention of foodies far and wide.
Angove Street may be the big seller, but there are also equally tasty options all around the suburb, making North Perth a must destination for your next meal.
Here are the best cafes in North Perth.
Aside from the incredible and unique food dishes, Chinta is right up there with the best because of its beautiful, zen garden interior that gives us major Bali vibes. Basically, it’s a garage turned tropical paradise.
The Asian fusion dishes here are as memorable as the location. You can’t go past ordering the Nasi Campur or Beef Rendang Curry, and if it’s breakfast you’re after the fried chicken & house waffle or rendang benedict is sure to kick off the morning right.
They also do a high tea complete with a range of savoury and sweet bites with plenty of options for gluten-free or vegan if you want to kick it up a gear.
North Perth peeps are very fond of their local icon, Satchmo Cafe.
Its traditional Jewish cuisine meets New Orleans flair in a quirky, charming little cafe that gives off retro feels and whips up some out-of-this-world bagels. We’d recommend giving the All Day Breakfast or Satchmo bagel a go while you sit back and enjoy the jazz-filled ambience.
When it’s always busy, you know they must be doing something right.
Hobart Deli has been cooking up breakfast for locals since 2010 in their cosy little green cafe. The menu may look small, but it packs a punch with some must-tries including the toasted brekkie wrap and brioche french toast plus plenty of seasonal specials.
All their dishes are filled with locally sourced, flavour-packed ingredients and there’s a strong selection of gluten-free options for those of us who blow up like a balloon after one slice of bread.
Let’s be honest, everyone wants a leafy green courtyard setting to have their morning coffee and meal in for the obligatory Insta story, and Stomp Coffee has provided.
They’re big on sustainability, big on exceptional coffee, big on delicious food and big on dogs, making them winners in our eyes.
It’s also highly recommended you head down for one of their Sunday live jazz sessions- talk about relaxation.
Prodigal Son Cafe
Prodigal Son Cafe is the kind of place you stumble upon when you’re on the hunt for food that simply knocks your socks off.
This hole-in-the-wall cafe is the definition of a hidden gem, with some of the best toasties in Perth and uber-friendly staff. It’s the perfect spot to sit and watch the world go by as you enjoy a relaxing atmosphere and top-notch eats and drinks.
milkd & CO
This industrial/modern-style cafe is buzzing with plenty of food options and outstanding coffee to top it all off.
Milkd & Co will have you spoilt for choice with shakshuka, spiced beef brisket, classic eggs benny and buttermilk pancakes on the menu- just to name a few.
If you’ve got a huge sweet tooth then you can’t go past Dolcetto Patisserie.
Their traditional Italian cakes & pastries are unmatched and some of the finest in Perth. It is essential you get your hands on one of their cannoli’s or apple strudel- you’ll be coming back for seconds, we promise!
Open Plan Coffee Co
We finish off the list strong with three more local coffee shops causing a buzz- the first of those being Open Plan Coffee Co.
The layout here is cosy, inviting and laidback- everything a good coffee joint should be. But it’s not just the amazing coffee that will have you hooked, they also do all-day breakfast and a range of baked goods to enjoy alongside your brew.
The Coffee Corner
Also serving up some exceptional coffee in North Perth is The Coffee Corner.
Locals are extremely fond of this joint, and they serve up some absolutely delicious bagels to go along with your morning caffeine kick. The cabinet of cakes and sweet treats is the ultimate test of self-control, but worth every calorie for the creamy, chocolatey delights inside.
Engine Room Espresso
This leads us to Engine Room Espresso, a very small cafe perfect for an on-the-go coffee, breakfast or lunch.
But don’t let its size fool you, it’s a funky little spot with super friendly staff and, as seems to be the trend in all coffee places, an array of tasty bagels from The Holy Bagel Co that pair perfectly with one of their smooth blends.
