We’re getting close to the start of Plateful Perth, a food festival like no other being put on by the City of Perth. 

August will be a month of getting out and exploring new cuisines, experiences, and venues. You might even find your new favourite place. Here’s the lineup of Plateful Perth events so you can add them to your calendar, fire up the group chat, and get tickets.  

Winter Feast — A Farm to Table Dinner

Midwinter Feast — A Farm to Table Dinner at Heritage Wine Bar

Plateful Perth kicks off its first event with Winter Feast, A Farm to Table Dinner at the Heritage Wine Bar. This opening event showcases the talents of four of WA’s best chefs —  Gord Kahle of The Heritage, Jess Widmer of Glenarty Road, Guy Jeffreys representing Millbrook, and Evan Hayter from Arimia. Each culinary maestro is set to bring their estate-grown wines and produce to the table, demonstrating the unparalleled quality of local WA artisan producers.

The Winter Feast is a symbol of The Heritage’s firm commitment to bolstering small-scale farmers and distributors. In keeping with this ethos, guests will be treated to a carefully crafted six-course menu, each course thoughtfully paired with distinctive wines from Millbrook Estate, Glenarty Road, and Arimia.

Cinema Supper Club

Cinema Supper Club at Market Grounds

Market Grounds brings together the ultimate duo of indulgences at its Cinema Supper Club — the love of food and film. The event promises to be a memorable night featuring the cult classic, ‘Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.’

Plateful Perth showcases its headline event, Plated: A Sensory Feast, blending the best food with the arts for a unique sensorial immersion. Masterminded by Executive Chef Kim Brennan and beverage connoisseur Matt Bodycote from the State Buildings, this culinary adventure shows off some of WA’s best produce, harvested from both land and sea, presented in a way that elevates the standard sit-down dinner.

Brought to you by the City of Perth and set in the cultured surrounds of the Art Gallery of WA, each corner turned during this event unfolds a new encounter, starting with your first taste upon arrival. The journey escalates to the rooftop, where guests are treated to a sophisticated canapé and cocktail experience. The grand finale then takes place in the main gallery, as guests relish a delectable two-course dinner, complemented by flowing beverages, ambient music, and live art.

ANY and Old Young’s Gin are joining forces for an exciting event titled ‘Any More Gin.’ The collaboration brings together the best of both worlds — ANY’s culinary creativity and the distinct flavours of Old Young’s Gin, widely recognised as one of Australia’s top gin distilleries. Ashleigh Pattison, culinary director at ANY, will helm the menu, working closely with mixologist Patrick Torres from Old Young’s distillery to ensure each course oozes flavour.

Varnish on King is teaming up with Howard Park Wine to host Whole Hog, a Long Lunch that celebrates the flavours and complexity of free-range Franklin River pork.
