The 33rd annual Great Aussie Pie competition has rolled around, awarding the best in the biz for their meat-filled pastry delights since 1989.
This year’s winners have now received their highly coveted crowns and bragging rights, and four homegrown WA bakeries made the cut up there with the best in the nation.
Four Seasons Patisserie Cafe and Bakery in High Wycombe came in as runner-up for the best Plain Mince category, while Mount Barker Country Bakery took out a top award for the best Slow Cooked BBQ Pie with their Jalapeno Sauce & Smokey Pork Pie number.
Jacks Bakery in Mandurah scored the best Vegetarian/Vegan Pie with their Veggie Paella creation, while on the sweeter side of things Miami Bakehouse in Greenfields got gold in the Apple Pie category for their Country Apple & Raspberry Pie.
