Things can usually start to seem a little dull in winter, with the sun coming out less we find that we do too. However, with not much else to do, winter really is the perfect time to explore Perth’s food scene. Many places crank out some unforgettable events and menus, allowing you to fill cold days by filling your cup, literally and figuratively. In August, Plateful Perth food festival will likely fill your foodie calendar as you eat your way through a month’s worth of events, experiences, and offers. In the meantime, here is a selection of the top limited-edition foodie events around Perth that are only here while the rain lasts.

Perhaps one of the most fitting winter events, Cottesloe Beach Hotel has transformed its Beach Club Mixology Bar and Terrace into a glamorous ski lodge. Check out the CBH website to find out what Saturdays it’s happening and which famous ski destination you’ll be swept away to.
Nom Nom Festival — Leederville Precinct

Nom Nom festival will see the oh-so-groovy Leederville Precinct taken over by boozy brunches, progressive lunches, dinner dates, and gourmet plates. Get Shucked — Shui
Back by popular demand, Perth’s King of Oysters, Jerry Fraser, is returning to Shui on Wednesday, July 26th and will be serving up these ocean delicacies from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

In case you needed more of an incentive, your pooch is more than welcome to join you and there’s even a special little doggie menu for them.

If you consider yourself to be an oenophile, then this one’s for you. Across five days, State of Wine will take over the State Buildings with an array of intoxicating masterclasses, parties, dinners, and grape-driven events.

This winter, allow the team at the vibrant Indigo Oscar, in the Indiana Tea House on Cottesloe Beach, to take you on a journey through six South American countries with their Aventuras Latinas food event. With Mexico and Argentina already crossed off the list in June, upcoming weeks will see the local flavours of Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Peru take over the restaurant. With authentic local cocktails, wines, and beers from each region also on the menu, this is a unique event we’d recommend making room in the schedule for.
High Tea — The Westin
Treat yourself and your loved ones to an indulgent high tea experience in The Haven Lounge at The Westin. Pastry Chef, Kiran Jetti, and Head Chef, Paul Gaspa, have come together to create a delectable menu consisting of four savoury and five sweet items.
