Long Pool soon to be WA’s next Instagram’s hotspot.

No this isn’t Honeymoon Pool, but just a few kilometers upstream from Honeymoon Pool along Lennard Drive you will find Long Pool.

Long Pool is the last of four magnificent swimming and picnic spots along Lennard Drive in the Wellington National Park near Collie and if you are looking for a spot away from the crowds, this could be your ticket.

You will be taken away with the beautiful bushland surroundings of Long Pool with weeping peppermint trees as they grace the banks and the waters shimmering blue and green, reflecting the sky and surrounding bush – very Instaworthy.

Long Pool itself is also plenty big enough for swimming and even kayaking as there are easy access steps directly down into the cool waters.

However, for the perfect Instagram snap we’d recommend grabbing your favourite float and simply jumping on to relax in the calm waters as you take in the sights and sounds of the surrounding nature.

After all that swimming, kayaking and floating you will no doubt be a little hungry.

Make sure to pack some snacks with picnic tables available so you can sit back under the trees and relax in between refreshing swims.

Want to make it more than just a day trip?

While you can’t camp at Long Pool, there is camping at Potters Gorge and Honeymoon Pool. Please note you will need to book your site online before heading into the park as there is limited internet service in the area.

To book go to parks.dpaw.wa.gov.au/park-stay

If you prefer something a little more comfortable say a hot shower at the end of the day and a proper flushing toilet the Collie River Tourist Park is a perfect central point to discover more secrets of the Collie River Valley.

For the amateur or first time camper, they even offer a ‘Pitch and Pack’ service, where they provide the tent or camper trailer and put it up and take it down for you. All you will need to do is bring your own linen, food and clothes.
