Optus Stadium had been voted Australia’s best stadium for 2019.
What a year 2019 was for Optus Stadium and to cap it all off – sports fans around Australia have voted Optus Stadium the best stadium in Australia ahead of Adelaide Oval.
To recap the year that was, in July of 2019, Optus Stadium was voted the best looking stadium in the world. This announcement was also hot off the heels that Optus Stadium was a tourism boom for WA.
Then thrown in the announcement of an Optus Stadium rooftop tour, Matagarup Bridge zip-line and of course the opening of the BHP Amphitheatre 142 square metre LED outdoor screen (twice the size of that in Melbourne’s Federation Square).
So it’s safe to say Optus Stadium had one massive year.
However, to top it all off the sports punters of Australia have spoken and Optus Stadium has impressed winning 3 awards in 2019 – Australia’s Best Stadium, Best AFL Stadium and Best Major Stadium.

Optus Stadium blits the field in Australia’s best stadium category by 6% over Adelaide Oval and a whopping 8% win as the best AFL stadium over the MCG the home of football.
It’s interesting to note that Optus Stadium came in second as the best cricket stadium behind Adelaide Oval – even though Perth is often considered a low priority for national cricket events.
