Following last year’s hugely successful inaugural festival, Perth Design Week is back for 2024. Devoted to celebrating all things design, this year’s instalment boasts even more events due to popular demand.
What’s on
Perth Design Week is set to light up the city and beyond with a diverse coalition of Perth creatives. Staring architects, interior designers, planners, graphic designers, and more, it’s about design at all scales. But working to the common goal of improving how we live and work.
The week-long program will run from March 14th to 21st, showcasing works new faces and last year’s inaugural collaborators. The event will feature more than 80 events, exhibitions, films, and experiences, exploring themes of fashion, architectural photography, artificial intelligence, art, and workplace interiors.

Where is it
Based around a central hub at the State Buildings — as well as the WA Museum Boola Bardip, Art Gallery of WA and more — you’ll hear from people at the top of their game in each discipline, and the next wave of design prodigies.
What’s it all about
Perth Design Week will create the opportunity for Perthites to engage and connect with professionals, allowing a deeper insight and understanding of the experts’ work, what they do and why they do it.
Festival highlights include an exhibition looking at WA Homes at WA Museum Boola Bardip, a showcase of sustainable housing design around the City of Vincent, and an interactive and inclusive installation at Cathedral Square with global architecture practise OMA and Italian furniture brand, UniFor.
Bigger and better than last year
Co-creators of the event, architect Sandy Anghie and designer David Smith said they were thrilled with the inaugural PDW. From the extraordinary events to the sheer number of people who took part and attended, it was an enormous success.
“Many of the successful Design Week’s around the world attract and engage not only local but international audiences. We are aiming high. PDW is an impactful event for Perth, allowing the city to proudly present and showcase our local design talent and their work,” Anghie said.
“This year PDW has gone global! We are proud and honoured to announce our collaboration with renowned global architecture practice OMA in partnership with Italian based, international furniture brand, UniFor — presenting a bespoke installation ‘Principles Square’ for the Festival at Cathedral Square. Significantly, PDW was chosen as the first location after Milan, to host the highly innovative, interactive and inclusive installation,” Smith said.
