Mark McGowan has a simple note for the people of Perth – do the right thing.
On a recent post on his Facebook page, Premier Mark McGowan has confirmed Perth beaches are still open, however, he has warned that he will close them if he has to.
Statement from his Facebook page
As it stands, WA’s beaches are still open.
And with hot weather on the way over this long weekend, we really don’t want to have to close them.
But make no mistake, if we have to, we will.
So please do the right thing if you do decide to go for a swim.
Don’t travel further than you have to, unless it’s to avoid a crowd.
Don’t hang around, don’t meet up with your mates.
And most importantly, keep your distance from others.
If you don’t, it’s going to ruin it for everyone else.
It’s the one thing we have left allowing for those close to the beach to still safely go outside for a quick did and get some fresh air.
If we are all sensible, one of the best parts of WA will remain open.
Let’s not let our beaches go the same way as the great Bunnings sausage sizzle.
