Mark McGowan has provided an update on the latest community COVID-19 case as Perth avoids a full lockdown.
Earlier today it was announced WA was to enter snap COVID-19 restrictions from midday with the initial timeline of 3-days.
The good news from the announcement from WA Premier Mark McGowan is that Perth has avoided a full lockdown – however, they will continue to monitor the situation. Which suggest depending on contact tracing and COVID-19 tests in the coming days Perth could still face further restrictions.
Latest known Perth COVID-19 exposure sites
As contact tracing continues to track close contacts and their movements, the number of exposure sites has now reached 13.
WA Border Update
Effective from 6pm tonight South Australia and Tasmania will be the only states in Australia that WA will allow into the state without self-quarantine.
This means border controls will be strengthened with the Northern Territory, Queensland and the ACT. These states and territories will join Victoria as low risk. That means all arrivals will need to complete 14 days of self-quarantine and be tested for COVID-19.
