Perth received some much-needed rain in January.
While the rain was able to hold off for the Scorchers to claim their 3rd BBL Title, since then it seems that Perth’s skies have not stopped raining.
So how wet was it this January?
Well Perth was wetter than wet, wet, wet.
For the month of January, Perth recorded 45.4 millimetres of rain, enough to make it the sixth wettest January on record, with the January average just 9.7 millimetres.
What is the wettest January on record?
Surprisingly this month didn’t even come close to the record.
You will have to cast your mind back to January, 2000 when Perth received 104 millimetres of rainfall as a result of a decaying tropical cyclone.
While rain isn’t exciting for some due to the cold weather and getting wet. The rain however, has been good for our gardens and most importantly the dams, but it has also resulted in stunning sunsets!
