Latest Victoria coronavirus update sees Victoria set a new daily record with 17 deaths on top of 394 newly confirmed cases.
Victoria has recorded another 394 new cases overnight and unfortunately also set a new daily record with the passing of 17 people overnight due to COVID-19.
Of the 17 confirmed deaths in Victoria due to COVID-19:
- Two people in their 50s
- Four people in their 70s
- Six people in their 80s
- Five people in their 90s
Ten of the deaths were linked to aged care outbreaks.
Victoria’s death toll now sits at 210 with Australia’s total now at 295.
An alarming figure announced by Premier Dan Andrews was that more than 2,700 confirmed COVID-19 cases around Victoria are of unknown origin.

The Victoria Police have issued a number of fine already to individuals including:
- 77 curfew breaches
- 38 failing to wear a face mask when leaving home
- 13 for vehicle checkpoint violations
Mr Andrews pleaded again with residents “There’s just a message for those people again – not only is it the wrong thing to do for your family and every family, it’s also the sort of behaviour that will mean this second wave goes longer than it should.”
