Imagine being able to spend the night in a unique Tiny Cabin and the first-ever accommodation right at the heart of the natural landscape that is Kings Park.

For a limited time this winter, that will be a reality — you’ll be able to stay in a tiny cabin inside Kings Park. It’s the first something like this has been on offer in the park, but possibly not the last.

Premier Roger Cook told So Perth, “Kings Park is one of WA’s best attractions, and my Government wants to bring Kings Park to life.”

“This is the start of a new era for Kings Park, as we explore new opportunities for hospitality and accommodation in the park itself.”

“That means more for visitors to do as they experience one of the world’s biggest and best inner-city parks.”

The accommodation will be provided by local Perth company, Heyscape, which will set up three tiny cabins in the park between June 7th and July 28th. Each eco-friendly cabin has a bed, kitchenette, Wi-Fi, and environmentally sustainable bathroom amenities, and uses solar panels, composting, and potable water.

Accommodation pricing will start at $495.00 per night with a two-night stay minimum and will include a few exclusive amenities. A behind-the-scenes tour of the Kings Park plant breeding program, the use of two Tiller E-rides for the duration of the stay, and a curated ‘locals’ experience highlighting the best activities in and around the park.

The three sites at Kings Park which will host the tiny cabins will be the DNA Tower, Dryandra, and Balga carpark. Each location highlights the natural beauty of the park, with two of the cabins featuring uninterrupted views of the Swan River and the other with views of the city skyline.

The availability of the Heyscape Cabins coincides with the same period that Lightscape will be running this year.

What is Lightscape?

Lightscape is an interactive light trail that debuted in Kings Park last year, featuring more than 430,000 lights, illuminated tree canopies, larger-than-life flowers, and a magical glowing tunnel. Last year, it attracted an estimated 180,000 visitors to the park to see the installation.

This year’s reimagined edition will be based on a new ‘roots’ theme, exploring what lays underneath the ground.
